What is the Bible? Is it primarily the revelation of God our Creator, the covenants He has made and human sin. What is the main message of every single book? God our Creator, the covenants and human sin. What is the main message of the Song of Solomon? This book reveals to us something of our Creator, the covenant between 1 man and 1 woman: marriage and human sin. In this I want to focus on what we can discover about God using the rest of scripture to help me - since scripture interprets scripture. This is what we see.
From every point of view, our beloved is wonderful. It is a good and right thing for us to constantly gain fresh views of the loveliness of Jesus. How special are our hard times when they carry us to gain clearer views of Jesus. We have seen His radiance while having those mountain top experiences and we have seen His beauty while being in the lions den of valley of the shadow of death. From the pain of the sick bed to the borders of the grave we have turned our yes towards our bride groom and He has lost none of His splendor. Jesus you are indescribable. You are most fair, my beloved. Many of His people have looked upon Him from the gloom of dungeons and fires, yet none had said a bad word against Him, but have died singing His surpassing charms. What a noble and pleasant work we have to gaize upon His beauty and meditate in His temple. When we see Him in all His offices we will see Him as one unmatched. As King and Servant. In the manger and as our Hugh Priest. On the cross and raised to life. As the lamb offered for our sins and ad the lion of the tribe of Judah. In all these and more He is, "altogether lovely" as Song of Solomon goes. Carefully examine every single part of His life and character and you will find Him lovely every single minute. From when He called the little children to His side, to when He rebuked those who abused religion. He is unmatched In glory. Eternity will not uncover a spot in His majesty, but it will reveal His wonder more and more in increasing strength.
